Non-destructive testing is mainly used in medical, aerospace and industrial applications, due to their enhanced requirements regarding accuracy, reliability and process replicability without tampering with the structural integrity of the test sample. This can lead to significant time savings, improved quality assurance, and less product waste for the user.

High-intensity LEDs have proven themselves to be superior to incandescent and fluorescent bulbs due to their energy savings, longer lifetime as well as higher process stability and safety. However, LED light sources differ greatly in emission spectrum,  beam area, homogeneity, and output.

We offer a high degree of flexibility and customization in spectral composition which is achieved by our modular concept with up to 5 separate emitters based on UV-LED and VIS-LED technology. Extremely stable output and extended lifetime characterize our spot light systems.

System overview

Our UV-LED light engines give you all the flexibility you need for your inspection application.

  1. With our fiber-coupled ALE/1 light engines, you are in total control: The initial setup of the unit and all internal LED modules is a matter of minutes. Maintenance is just as fast as end-users can replace LED modules in the field without special tools. To make output adjustments, you may define desired power levels for any installed LED Module individually and in high resolution. ALE/1 LED light sources enable maximum exposure process precision by achieving full optical output in less than a millisecond and stabilizing all LED Modules through closed-loop feedback control of the emitted power.

  2. Our more cost-efficient model, the ALE/3 allows to quickly analyze samples and has a smaller footprint, to bring with you in the field.

We offer a selection of homogenizing light pipes, flexible liquid light guides, and condensing optics which you can combine with our LED light sources. These components may be particularly helpful if you need to transmit high-power radiation over long distances, increase uniformity, or want to adjust the collimation angle of the output radiation.

With our fibre-coupled solutions, you have no restrictions regarding movability or positioning of the light exit. Some existing installations use light guides of up to 20 m and 4-poles. Please see Primelite Performance Optics for additional information.

Advanced Light Engine THREE

When we developed the ALE/3, we wanted to create a very compact, easy-to-use light source that provides best-in-class output power while having little to no maintenance needs. Based on our proven modular technology platform and new thermo-electric cooling system the ALE/3 delivers up to 15 Watts of optical output.

Choose from a wide range of LED options for the ALE/3 system. UV-LED Modules in the near UV (e.g., 365, 385, 405, 435) are our standard emitters, but VIS-LED (e.g., 470, 520, 620, 660, 690 nm) and NIR-LED emitters (e.g., 730, 770, 810, 850, 970 nm) are also available on request.
