LED Pattern Projector for Machine Vision Applications

The LumiBlazR™ is a high-power LED fixed pattern projector for structured lighting and stereo vision in 3D machine vision with various reticle and working distance options. The no-reticle flood illuminator, LumiBlaze™, is uniquely designed for applications that require a highly uniform field of high brightness.

The pattern projectors can be used for object identifications and pick & place operations in vision guided robotics applications, as well as, in 3D metrology for precision shape, volume and depth measurement. Further industrial use-cases are inspections and surface defect detection, biometrics, gesture recognition and flood source illumination incl. night guidance.

LED Spectra and Characteristics

Offering extremely intense patterns and uniform fields at long working distances, LumiBlaze(R)™ enables the use of 3d imaging and illumination in vast, well-lit areas including outdoor locations.

The LumiBlazeR™ project patterns with an intensity that is at least 5x to 10x greater than other ‘high-power’ LED pattern projectors for similar pattern site, working distance, and wavelength.

Reticle Options

Available are precision reticles patterned by photolithography for thinner lines, sharper edges, and a more homogeneous illumination. With seven standard optical patterns available in interchangeable mounting frames, the LumiBlazR™ offers highest flexibility for your application. The patterns are sized to fill the field of 1″ format C-mounted camera lenses with a line width  of 70 µm.

All reticles are sold separately and custom patterns can be fabricated upon request.

1FOV is based on the 11.3 mm width and length of the pattern reticle.

Lens Options

The LumiBlazR™ field of view is designed for 1″ format C-mount lenses. Small field of view lenses can be used but will suffer from a higher drop in the intensity with field angle.

High speed (low F/#/ high NA) lenses produce the brighter pattern images. Special high uniformity lenses are available for LumiBlaze™.

System output

Our standard ALE/1C setup combines UV-LED emitters with peak wavelengths around the i-line (365 nm), h-line (405 nm), and g-line (435 nm) of the mercury spectrum. All UV-LED emitters are individually controllable, allowing you to switch between wavelengths without changing filters and customize the composition of your output spectrum.
